Nestle welcomes Eurotech students in Vevey, Switzerland

The headquarters of Nestle is located in Vevey, nestled at the eastern end of Lake Geneva in Switzerland. The landscape is absolutely stunning, setting the mood for a very impressive presentation from the leaders of the GLOBE initiative within Nestle.

They welcomed us into their stunning modernist building, which has just undergone renovation.

The presentation was equally as impressive as the premises, as top Nestle IT staff presented the challenges and successes of implementing their GLOBE system, and integrated SAP system designed to keep track of Nestle's immense product portfolio.The presenters highlighted that some of the biggest challenges did not arise from technical problems, but more with the users of the system and the organizational changes that resulted from such a disruptive initiative. The GLOBE program is one of the only successful systems of its scale and scope in the world and maintaining that success requires flexibility and constant reassessment of business needs.

Students were given the opportunity to ask questions and then enjoyed a Nestle lunch on the veranda overlooking lake Geneva. We then went to the product gallery, which showcases all Nestle products, before getting back on the bus for a long drive to Munich.
